Wave guides. Electromagnetic radiation from a dipole antenna. Antenna parameters; radiation pattern, beam width, radiation resistance, gain. Antenna arrays. Electromagnetic wave propagation around the earth, multipath propagation and channel capacity limitations. Mobile radio cell planning. Satellite communication systems, radar, satellite and terrestrial microwave link planning. Fibre optics, radar systems.
