This subject addresses the topic of "careers" in the broadest sense and includes studies of career education, career guidance, career counselling, work and non-work activities and transition from school to post-school life.
Learning Outcomes
- be conversant with a range of approaches to career education, career guidance and career counselling;
- become conversant with various transition programs for people with specific needs;
- develop skills needed to provide career guidance, to engage in career counselling and to design and implement career education programs;
- understand a range of theoretical perspectives on career development, occupation choice and career decision-making;
- understand contemporary aspects of the global, national and local workforce relevant to career guidance;
- understand the place of non-work activities in peoples lives.
