This subject uses a problem based learning approach to move from practice to theory in introducing students to key concepts of effective learning and teaching, including lesson planning, classroom management and the use of information technologies in education settings. Students are required to undertake 125 hours of professional experience in educational settings to establish praxis as a way of knowing.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate competence to plan and self-evaluate effective short sequences of learning episodes for all learners;
- demonstrate effective and ethical interactive skills within the school community;
- explain the various influences on the development of their own professional practices;
- investigate the potential for equitable and effective use of information technologies in classrooms.
