Available to final year education honours students.
Students will conduct a supervised piece of educational research. They will report that research in a thesis written in a style that is appropriate to their chosen research methodology.
Learning Outcomes
- to develop a deep understanding of ethics appropriate to the changing role of schools in society;
- to develop a professional identity as an educational practitioner which incorporates a sense of inquiry;
- to develop the critical skills to assess the roles of teachers in relation to current and emerging educational issues, trends and policies;
- to gain competence in analysing educational problems, collecting research data, data analysis and writing of research reports;
- to gain extended knowledge of the particular educational topic chosen for research;
- to gain insights into how to work effectively with the profession and the community.
