This subject examines the theoretical and applied aspects of teaching computer studies subjects at the upper primary and secondary school levels. It prepares students to teach the Queensland Studies Authority Registered subject, Computer Studies at the senior school level. It prepares students to teach the Information and Communication Technology in Education syllabus within the key learning area of technology.
Learning Outcomes
- construct and reflect on their own theoretical framework for the teaching of computer studies subjects within the context of the theories and practices which are seen to be effective in encouraging and facilitating learning;
- demonstrate skills in the evaluation and implementation of technological innovations;
- develop and evaluate teaching units, resources and assessment instruments;
- reflect on this framework and apply it to the relevant mandated syllabuses.
