This subject assists students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for planning, teaching, assessing and evaluating learnings in Health and Physical Education in the primary school based upon the Years 1-10 Health and Physical Education Syllabus and current trends within Australia. Students will examine the models influencing trends in Health and Physical Education, including outcomes based education, the social view of health, personal development, social justice principles and the importance of physical activity. Approaches to developing learner-centred, integrated and inclusive curricula are emphasised.
