The subject explores strategies available to those in a role of career counsellor. Development of an understanding of labour market trends and future career paths is required of skilled career counsellors. Also required is an exploration of some of the tools and strategies that can be useful when working with individuals and groups as is a knowledge of the process of job search including interview and application writing skills.
Learning Outcomes
- able to demonstrate a basic understanding and application of various strategies in the process of career counselling;
- able to demonstrate an understanding of the stages involved in the job search process including effective application writing, effective interview skills;
- begin to develop an understanding of labour market trends and future career paths.
