This subject will introduce students to business planning, marketing, financial management and the statutory requirements necessary to successfully operate a small business in the creative arts industries. Topics to be covered include: researching and developing a business plan; budgeting; pricing; copyright; contracts; taxation requirements; employing staff and models; banking and finance; marketing and promotion; grant writing; basic bookkeeping and insurance requirements/obligations.
