To develop a critical understanding of the principles and methodologies behind the rules and play of exemplar games, and develop skills to modify such games
Learning Outcomes
- be able to apply principles of basic interactive design, including information design and human computer interaction in game re-design;
- be able to use typical game engines for game re-design, demonstrating effective design documentation and testing;
- be able to explain how games function to create experiences, including rule design, play mechanics, game balancing, social game interaction and the integration of visual, audio, tactile and textual elements into the total game experience.
