Developing business information systems in a database context. Topics include systems design, relational database theory, systems implementation, systems testing/support/maintenance, systems evaluation and user training.
Learning Outcomes
- describe what a database management system is and how it organizes data;
- design a business information system in a database context conforming to the principles of data analysis and data modelling;
- demonstrate the ability to implement a business information system in a database context;
- develop implementation plans including testing, change-over, user-training, evaluation and systems maintenance activities.
