This subject is specifically designed for students who plan to do research of their own and/or who are interested in contemporary research issues in Business. It is structured around a series of staff seminars and is designed to add to students' general view of research in the School of Business whilst also allowing individual students to 'specialise' - developing detailed awareness and knowledge of contemporary issues within a specific discipline. The staff seminars will be based on current research projects, so topics will change each year.
Learning Outcomes
- appreciate and understand the contemporary issues in the areas of accounting, commerce, economics, tourism, hospitality, and management;
- appreciate and understand how these issues impact on practice and research these business areas;
- appreciate and understand the various responses to the main issues impacting of business areas;
- appreciate and understand the types of research undertaken to address the contemporary issues in business;
- appreciate and understand the impact of one issue in one area of business and the types of research undertaken to address this issue.
