Honours projects are individual, supervised analyses of particular sectors of, or topics pertaining to the tourism, management, marketing or human resource management industry. The thesis will normally be completed and submitted by November and will be of the order of 12,000-15,000 words. A public presentation of the thesis research is part of the assessment.
Learning Outcomes
- deepen students understanding of one particular facet of tourism, management, marketing or human resource management by a concentration on one setting with more sustained attention than is required in essays, practicals etc;
- develop objective research skills to dissect, analyse and appraise one facet of the tourism management, marketing or human resource management industry without bias or favour;
- provide a focus for students so that they can integrate material from other subjects in one specific setting;
- provide students with the opportunity to develop a substantial piece of work on a topic of special interest to them;
- provide, where appropriate, a paper which may be a resource for the tourism, management, marketing or human resource management setting or context analysed.
