This is the second of two semesters of mathematics which will cover the Mathematics B syllabus core curriculum for years 11 and 12 as outlined by the Queensland Department of Education. Elements introduced in Semester 1 are dealt with here in greater depth.

Learning Outcomes

• carry out calculations in both geometry and algebra;
• apply optimisation using derivatives and integration;
• use statistical analysis and compare data sets;
• demonstrate skills in problem solving with group tutorial problems as well as with individual assignments;
• cover core mathematics 12 curriculum and the application of mathematics to real world problems.
