Admission to Honours is available on a full-time or part-time basis to students who have satisfied the requirements of the School regarding the standard of academic achievement necessary to proceed to the Honours degree. This component of Honours involves the first stage of the supervised writing of a 12,000 to 15,000 word thesis on a specific anthropological research project. Students who complete Part 1 of the thesis project then proceed with Part 2.
Learning Outcomes
- become familiar with advanced theory and methods in archaeology;
- design and undertake a research project;
- develop the writing and presentation skills required to complete a thesis;
- identify and discuss current trends, issues and debates in archaeology;
- understand the ethical, disciplinary and practical implications of archaeological research.
