This subject provides students with an opportunity both to deepen their understandings of theoretical issues and research methodologies in archaeology and to broaden their familiarity with the social sciences. Admission is available on a full-time or part-time basis to students who have satisfied the requirements of the school regarding the standard of academic achievement necessary to proceed to the honours degree. The curriculum comprises an archaeology seminar (weekly during Semester 1); a multi-disciplinary seminar (fortnightly during Semesters 1 and 2); the supervised writing of a 12,000 word thesis on a specific research project.
