This subject will introduce students to the major methods of archaeological excavation, artefact analysis and interpretation and examine the proper modes of presenting data and producing an archaeological report. This will be achieved through a series of seminars, laboratory workshops and practical exercises.

Learning Outcomes

• participate in the analysis and interpretation of an archaeological assemblage;
• learn how to compile and produce a professional archaeological report;
• learn the major methods of archaeological excavation, artefact analysis and interpretation;
• acquire knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
