Review of major animal phyla, focussing on their diversity and general form and function, including aspects of physiology, behaviour and ecology.
Learning Objectives:
to gain a basic knowledge and understanding of the diversity of animals, their form and their functions;
to appreciate the close connection between anatomy, physiology, behaviour and ecology in the animal phyla.
Assessment by theory examination (50%); practical examination (20%); on-course assessment (30%).
