This subject considers the place of spirituality in professional practice from both the practitioner and consumer perspectives. Topics covered include the meanings and significance of spirituality for practice, spiritual diversity and practice, understanding spiritual development and spiritually sensitive practice skills.

Learning Objectives:

understand the significance of spiritual and/or religious beliefs in the lives of practitioners and consumers of social services;

apply a diverse range of spiritual understandings and their place in professional practice;

apply a variety of spiritually sensitive skills for practice.

Assessment by essays (40%); assignments (30%); reflective journal (30%).
