Rural and Remote Welfare

Semester 2.

This subject provides students with the opportunity to explore the issues and concepts relevant to social welfare practice in rural and remote areas of Australia. Particular attention will be paid to the position of Indigenous people in rural and remote Australia. Students will be encouraged to critically analyse the provision of social welfare services and the practice dilemmas that impact on this provision.

Learning Objectives:

understanding of social needs, social planning, social development, human services provision and welfare practice in provincial, rural and remote areas.

Assessment by written assignments (100%).
