Professor P Pearce (Townsville campus);
Dr D Lee-Ross (Cairns campus).
This subject considers research training as a skills development task. It treats research as a systematic process and introduces students to the context of research in Australia and the philosophy of research in the tourism and business fields. It tackles the design of research question and hypotheses and systematically explores a diverse array of methods for approaching research questions. It develops an understanding of when to use particular statistics in the research process and considers the presentation of research material to different audiences.
