100 hours practicals. Semester 1.

Available to level 2 BT students only.

This subject has three components: .

Voice: vocal modules - muscularity of the word, text analysis, Shakespearean text.

Movement: shoulder, neck, spine release; body centering philosophies and practice; expression through the movement.

Singing: the development of singing techniques (pith, rhythm, dynamics and diction).

Learning Objectives:

to enable students to develop, employ and obtain mastery of core skills in the discipline.

Assessment by presentations (55%); tutorial participation (20%); phonetics written examination (10%); creative journal (10%); scales and ear test (5%).
