Lighting for Theatre

30 hours practicals. Semester 1.

Available to BT students only.

Technical production students explore all facets of stage lighting for theatre. Areas of study include: types of lanterns and their uses, patching systems, control systems, rigging, focussing and the aesthetics of colour, shadow and lamp usage for theatrical effect.

Learning Objectives:

to enable students to identify, employ and obtain mastery of fundamental skills necessary to professional practice.

Assessment by quizzes/tests (25%); tutorial attendance and participation (25%); practical competency test (50%).
