Acting 2: The Art of Acting

Townsville

52 hours workshops. Semester 2.

Available to all students except those enrolled in the BT.

This subject provides the students with the basic skills of analysis of the written text; approaches to text consistent with the different styles and genres (comedy, tragedy, classical play, contemporary play and children's theatre); and the application of the techniques learned in level 1 studies to a performance. The training process will culminate in a studio production. Students will also undertake modules in voice and movement.

Learning Objectives:

to enable students to identify, obtain and employ a mastery of fundamental key competencies necessary for theatre skills.

Assessment by rehearsal process (50%); performance (40%); creative journal (10%).
