Doctoral Seminars in Health Psychology

Available to students admitted to the Doctor of Psychology program.

The focus of this subject is on the development of additional knowledge and skills in the field of health psychology. Seminars will be conducted through a combination of traditional, video and audio-conference and internet formats. Topics will be based upon a basic core of readings on advanced health psychology topics and topics of particular interest to individual students. Workshops may form part of the content.

Learning Objectives:

acquire knowledge and skills consistent with the ability to intervene with complex or less common disorders in clinical settings;

demonstrate the ability to analyse the clinical literature and develop new skills or greater knowledge as a result.

Assessment by written reports (60%); seminar participation (20%); practical skills (20%).
