Doctoral Research Thesis 1

Full year, Limited Attendance. Students may commence in Semester 1 or 2.

Available to students admitted to the DPsych program.

Staff:

Assoc. Professor E Helmes and other clinical staff.

Students will independently plan, design and commence research in an applied setting or clinical practice. The study should demonstrate original and critical thought and should relate to a well defined area of mental health. The research planned should have the capacity to make a significant, substantial and original contribution to knowledge.

Learning Objectives:

to prepare a comprehensive literature review and detailed research proposal.

Assessment by completion of a comprehensive review of the literature relevant to the thesis proposal to the satisfaction of the thesis adviser; preparation of a research proposal; presentation of a seminar based on the thesis proposal; submission of the proposal to the University Ethics Committee.
