Classical Mechanics

Lagrangian and hamiltonian mechanics, central forces and astronomical orbits, oscillations, non-inertial systems, fluid mechanics.

Learning Objectives:

to understand the theoretical concepts covered in lectures and to solve problems related to these topics;

to undertake experimental work and write laboratory reports.

Assessment by end-of-semester examination; on-course tutorial assignments; practical work.
