Advanced Clinical Practice

Townsville

HECS Band 2

144 hours clinical placement, 20 hours flexible delivery. Full year Limited Attendance.

Available to students enrolled in postgraduate studies in Occupational Therapy with recognised prior learning as approved by the Head of Occupational Therapy.

This subject is an elective and content will vary according to the individual's specific needs related to the elective module.

Electives may include: occupational therapy in rural and remote communities, mental health practice, work rehabilitation within the mining industry, OT and palliative care, paediatrics or specialty general medical services.

Learning Objectives:

increased knowledge in specific areas of occupational therapy practice;

achieve advanced skills specific to the chosen elective module;

participate in a wider range of occupational therapy practice settings;

develop an appreciation of and an understanding for other professional specialities and develop a collegiate network.

On-course assessment (100%).
