Contemporary Issues in Nurse Education

Semester 1.

Applicants are required to be registered nurses; to hold a degree in nursing or a related discipline; or to have gained entry by exception at the discretion of the Head of School.

The subject will explore contemporary issues affecting nurse education such as teaching in universities, the changing health environment, workforce requirements and other professional and social issues impacting on nursing.

Learning Objectives:

identify issues which affect nurse education;

discuss the impact of a changing health environment on nurse education;

outline the professional and social issues which need to be considered in nurse education.
