Introduction to Nurse Education

Semester 1.

Applicants are required to be registered nurses; to hold a degree in nursing or a related discipline; or to have gained entry by exception at the discretion of the Head of School.

This subject will focus on educational theory such as educational psychology, adult learning principles, factors which influence learning and the setting up of a learning environment.

Learning Objectives:

discuss the various types of education theories;

describe factors which can influence learning;

outline the principles of adult learning;

describe different methods which can be used in setting up an effective learning environment.

On-course assessment (100%).
