Available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing Science (Post-registration) - Fiji program.

This subject builds on the student's extensive knowledge of primary health care activities and serves to integrate the knowledge to enable the student to develop and manage a primary health care program in their local context.

Learning Objectives:

describe the primary health care approach to providing health services;

discuss the principles and values of primary health care;

outline several models of health promotion;

develop a range of health promotion activities that are suited to the setting in which they will be done;

manage a health promotion program.

Assessment by presentations (50%); assignment (50%).
