Clinical placement offers opportunities for supervised clinical learning. The focus of the clinical placement is the application of skills and knowledge gained throughout the three years of this course. In particular for this subject, placements will be undertaken at community health facilities (four weeks) and mental health facilities (four weeks). The student will work in a preceptor facilitator/educator relationship with an experienced Registered Nurse for all components of the clinical placement.
The subject is offered concurrently with the theoretical subjects that support these nursing specialities. In addition, skills learnt in previous theoretical subjects will be developed and practised in the clinical arena.
