Topics include: commencing and sustaining the negotiation process; preparing negotiation strategies, methods and tactics; intra- and inter-group negotiations; dispute resolution and mediation; management goals and strategic negotiations; employee relations mediation, arbitration and negotiation in industrialised economies; the process and outcomes of industry and workplace collective bargaining.

Learning Objectives:

to understand the nature and process of negotiations;

to identify different negotiation strategies;

to learn to devise negotiation strategies, methods and tactics;

to understand how negotiations are used to reshape the relationship between management, employees and unions.
