An independent study subject involving seminars/workshops and library research. Block mode Semester 1 or 2.

This subject reviews current topics in the ecology of coral reef fishes. Topics will include behavioural ecology (habitat selection, foraging, social and mating systems), population biology, the ecology of fish communities and the role of fishes in coral reef ecosystems.

Assessment by examination (50%); assignments (25%); tutorial participation (5%); mini-project and seminar (20%).
