A two week intensive subject on recent advances in fisheries biology, assessment and management. Emphasis will be on tropical marine fisheries. Major themes will be age determination of tropical fish, age-based stock assessment, coral reef fisheries, the use of marine reserves as fisheries management tools and the utility of multi-species fisheries models.

Assessment by take-home examination (60%); seminar (20%); assignment (15%); discussion (5%).
