Theories of human rights, international human rights and humanitarian law documents, treaties and domestic law, protection of rights in Australia -- State and Commonwealth.
Learning Objectives:
understanding of the jurisprudential concepts underlying human rights and humanitarian law;
a knowledge of substantive human rights and humanitarian law internationally and within Australia;
understand how rights are protected in other jurisdictions.
Assessment by coursework (60%); examination (40%) (subject to variation).
