Television Current Affairs

Available ONLY to students enrolled in accredited Journalism programs.

This subject develops students' television journalism skills and applies them to current affairs production. The subject involves selecting stories, conducting research and interviews and non-linear editing. Completed stories may be selected for inclusion in a simulated current affairs program to be produced and presented by students.

Learning Objectives:

demonstrated ability to apply television journalism skills to the production of industry-standard television current affairs stories;

demonstrated capacity to present and produce a television current affairs program in a television studio.

Assessment by production of original television current affairs stories (60%); production and presentation of a current affairs program in a television studio (40%).
