This practical subject builds on students' expertise in sourcing and writing news stories and news features suitable for publication in daily newspapers. Students produce articles in the journalism newsroom and take on the professional roles associated with a newspaper newsroom.
Learning Objectives:
to refine and expand writing skills;
to develop advanced editorial skills;
to nurture/encourage objective presentation of printed matter;
to be able to work productively and effectively in a print media organisation.
Assessment by tutorial participation (10%); regular news story assignments (50%); examination (40%).
