Available to students enrolled in accredited Journalism programs.

Students are introduced to the daily operation of radio newsrooms and to `writing for the ear'. The subject prepares students for radio reporting positions and includes radio news-gathering, news writing, interviewing techniques, digital editing and radio news presenting.

Learning Objectives:

research and produce or present a radio magazine program including interviews and information relevant to their Indigenous audience;

record music and performance in the field;

do complex interviews;

produce or present a live discussion;

edit on digital and analogue equipment.

Assessment by regular radio news assignments (50%); presentation of a news bulletin (40%); participation in practicals (10%).
