13 hours lectures (video-conferenced to Cairns), 39 hours tutorials (over three weekend workshops in Cairns). Semester 2.

This subject continues building elementary level communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Learning Objectives:

to equip students with the skills necessary to discuss locations - where things are and how they are placed; describe qualities - big, small, etc. and talk about likes and dislikes; discuss routine daily activities; make requests, offer assistance and extend invitations and communicate successfully in reading and writing on the above topics.

Assessment by assignments, in-class tests, oral/aural and written examinations: listening (25%); speaking (25%); reading (25%); writing (25%).
