Mrs M-F Mack,
Dr C Mann.
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Languages are required to spend two semesters abroad studying in an approved program (beginning with FR3700 in Semester 2 and continuing with FR3701 in Semester 1 of the following year). The precise content of this subject will be negotiated between staff, students and the receiving overseas institution(s). In broad terms, however, the subject will consist of an in-depth practical study of communication in the target language through interaction on a daily basis with speakers of the target language.
The precise form of assessment tasks will be determined by negotiation between staff, students and the receiving overseas institution(s). In general terms, however, assessment will involve judging the four macroskills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, together with cultural sensitivity, through the completion of a range of appropriate tasks. Equal weight will be given to each of the macroskills.
