Dr E Harding.
This subject provides students with an opportunity to expand and strengthen their conceptual and applied skills in addressing problems in the management and conservation of wildlife. This advanced subject will allow students possessing an existing theoretical understanding of ecology and environmental management to integrate knowledge from these fields through direct examination of wildlife conservation issues in tropical Queensland. Lectures will discuss worldwide issues impacting rainforest wildlife, including threatening processes and the various approaches for measuring and monitoring species and community health. Students will critically analyse case studies with the aid of geographic information systems and, by working in groups, develop approaches for management.
