An introduction to literatures written in English from Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand, the West Indies and Melanesia and to theoretical issues in the study of post-colonial literatures.

Assessment by two essays of 1,500 words each (40%); weekly tutorial participation (20%); one three-hour examination (40%).
