Poststructuralist Research and Writing

Townsville

35 hours workshops. Semester 1 and 2 Limited Attendance.

Available to students currently enrolled in a PhD.

The general content will be the exploration of research methodologies as they are informed by poststructuralist theory. Students will gain first hand experience of exploring and using poststructuralist methodologies. They will develop writing and research skills relevant to their PhD research: have opportunities to engage in collective writing; have opportunities to present aspects of current work to other participants for critique; develop skills of collaborative critique.

Learning Objectives:

develop skills in poststructuralist research and writing;

explore the implications of poststructuralist theory and methodology for ongoing PhD work;

develop skills of collaborative critique.

Assessment by participation in workshop, including presentation of some aspect of ongoing research and critique of others' work (50%); participation in collaborative writing project during and following workshop (50%).
