Graduate Final Professional Experience
10 hours lectures, 125 hours practicum, 75 hours of other professional experience (consisting of 25 hours professional orientation week and 50 hours community service). Semester 1 and 2.
Available only to students enrolled in a Master of Teaching. Students should have completed 33 units of MTeach subjects, including 12 units in each teaching area from the first degree for secondary students, towards Master of Teaching.

This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for professional experience within the Master of Teaching program. Students will complete one week of professional orientation, engaging in group visits to education settings and sessions with education leaders. Students will be allocated a school and attend for 25 allocated days, completing a range of activities to develop an understanding of the complexities of teachers' roles and the changes that occur over the school semester. As a culminating experience, students will plan, teach and evaluate a full-time three week continuous block of teaching. In addition students will develop an understanding of the important link between the work of educators and a range of community services.
