Lectures and tutorials are conducted online through LearnJCU. Students are asked to complete a set of reflective, hands-on, learning investigations including field trips to local sites. A negotiated research and/or curriculum project allows students to follow up personal interests in the area of tropical environmental education.

develop knowledge and understandings of curriculum development and pedagogical practice in relation to environmental education in tropical environments;

reflect on and evaluate environmental educational practices in relevant professional settings;

build a repertoire of teaching and learning strategies for effective environmental practice in a range of educational settings.

Assessment by contribution to web-based discussions (10%); learning investigations (40%); negotiated project (50%).
