Major topics include financial analysis and planning; management of cash and accounts receivable; time value of money; risk, return and valuation; capital project appraisal; financing of working capital; capital structure decisions.

Learning Objectives:

prepare a profit plan for a business organisation;

formulate short- and long-term financing strategies for a business enterprise;

evaluate proposed capital projects;

perform basic security valuation;

demonstrate an understanding of the principles of working capital management;

assess the implications of leasing assets.

Assessment by three tests (45%); final examination (55%).
