The study of the nature of eCommerce/eBusiness; how it is being conducted and managed; and its major opportunities, limitations, issues and risks; legal, privacy and ethical issues.

Learning Objectives:

understand the key differences between electronic commerce and traditional commerce;

ability to identify the stakeholders in electronic commerce and their capabilities and limitations;

gain knowledge of the opportunities, problems and limitations associated with electronic commerce, including new business models, security, ethical issues of privacy and legal issues;

understand the essential concepts and technologies supporting electronic commerce;

understand how electronic commerce can be applied in a business;

learn how to develop a strategy driven Web presence for an organisation.

Assessment by an assignment (30%); business plan for e-Commerce website (30%); develop website (40%).
