An understanding of markets and marketing skills is an essential requirement for almost any management position. This subject covers market analysis, the skills and techniques of marketing and the process of marketing management.

Learning Objectives:

understand the role of marketing in the organisation;

understand the relationship of marketing to other functions;

understand how to make marketing decisions in the context of general management;

understand the function and relationship between the elements within the marketing mix: buying behaviour, product positioning, marketing research, distribution and pricing.

Assessment to be advised by first week of lectures.
