Available to students enrolled for the degrees of MSc, MAppSc, BAppSc or Graduate Diplomas.

Students will be required to attend lectures and practical classes in Bt3320 .

This subject provides an introduction to the theory and practice of plant propagation for use in urban and rural environments. Special emphasis will be placed on erosion control, environmental restoration and land rehabilitation/revegetation.

Learning Objectives:

to gain an understanding of the theory and practice of plant propagation;

to gain an understanding of the techniques associated with the establishment and maintenance of ground covers and associated vegetation in tropical ecosystems;

to gain some basic knowledge about environmental factors affecting the growth of plants in both urban and rural settings.

Assessment by examination (55%); assignments (20%); practical reports (25%).
