Tropical Agricultural Field Studies

5 day field trip. Semester 1 or 2.

This subject consists of two compulsory field trips, during the lecture recesses in Semester 1 and 2, visiting private and commercial properties and government research stations to the north (Semester 1) and to the south (Semester 2) of Townsville.

Learning Objectives:

to introduce students to practical aspects of primary production in a variety of industries and environments in Northern Queensland;

to establish skills in note-taking and observation and in collation of material and report writing.

Assessment by two major written assignments relating to the field trip; field trip diary, level of participation in subject activities.
